Horse Riding

Several local stables offer horse-riding and pony-trekking on Dartmoor, details of which are available at both hotels. Most of the stables listed cater for riders of all ages and experience, so if you haven't ridden before, or it's been a while, this is an ideal way of seeing Dartmoor.

Rock Climbing and Abseiling

This activity is available during peak times. We have made arrangements for these sessions to take place at the Youth Hostel in Okehampton, which has a climbing wall and abseil route. This will ensure that irrespective of weather conditions the sessions will go ahead.

Watersports

Watersports are available at Roadford Lake between April and October. Roadford Lake, on the Devon/Cornwall border, is the largest lake for watersports in the South West. At the lake you can enjoy a range of water-based activities including sailing, windsurfing, kayaking and multi-activity days. We would recommend speaking directly with the Roadford Lake watersports team, prior to arrival, to check on their activities programme (01409 211507).

The Eden Project

The Eden Project is an unforgettable experience in a breathtaking location; a place of beauty and wonder. Most people have heard about the giant green houses, thousands of plants, world famous architecture and art, but there's even more to Eden than all of that. We recommend you set aside a good four to five hours for your visit and if you've been before, go again, as the experience is always changing. Reduced price tickets are available from reception.
